Food and Feng Shui are very exciting to me because I have desired to understand how food effects the body for many years! Your outer environment consists of your neighborhood, your house, your furniture, your food and so on! Feng Shui means wind and water and how these two energies in our environment effect our life and state of mind. Ideally you want gentle winds and clear water which produce an environment that supports your ideals and dreams. (Heavy winds and murky water make it harder to support your ideals and dreams, life and state of mind.) Your inner environment consists of your thoughts, your emotions, your body and in particular for this segment of writing the food we eat that comes from the outer environment to the inner environment your body. Now can you see how food and feng shui go together? Everything that is outside must come in and everything inside must come out! This is a very profound feng shui statement. I have considered many places to begin explaining Food Feng Shui for proper health, balance and peace of mind. The other day I heard a commercial announcer on the radio say "it is hard to lose weight when you are hungry all the time!" This made sense because that was one of my biggest obstacles in learning how to eat right. In the past when I didn't practice Food Feng Shu I wanted to eat all the time or when I did eat I ate more than I should. On top of it when I was done eating I was thinking about what food I wanted to eat next! The first step with Food Feng Shui is to get your appetite under control. I went from 220 pounds to 170 pounds and 20 pounds of this I lost in 2 weeks and have kept the 50 pounds off for over a year now! One of the secrets to Food Feng Shui is to know what foods make you hungry and why! This gives you the motivation and eventually the awareness and reasoning ability to know that foods effect your body in very specific ways. Most Americans think that when you eat food it will go to where your body needs it, this is not so. The truth is each food goes to a particular organ in the body creating a very specific effect concerning the health of your body and even effecting your thoughts, attitudes, your state of mind! One of the main foods or should I say spices that makes you hungry are: Black pepper and white pepper. Many take out restaurants and dine in restaurants use an abundance of black pepper or white pepper. If you eat out often you will be hungry all the time because pepper heats the stomach! Black pepper creates and maintains a veracious appetite, over heating the stomach creating an effect of "I need more food to keep the fire going". When the stomach is too hot in nature it is like a bonfire that wants you to keep throwing wood on it! From my experience it takes about a week to two weeks of no black pepper to experience a stomach cooler in nature. When this happens you do not get hungry and now you can control your eating habits because your appetite is soothed. When your not hungry you won't be thinking about your next meal. This is a relief because now you can focus on other things! Can you see how this would contribute to a number of illnesses including A.D.D.. As you understand what each food or spice does to your body you will have a greater advantage of making informed choices that work to have a calm mind (gentle wind) and clear body (clear water, remember your body is 90 percent water) that support a strong healthy body and consciousness.
